Carissa Castaldo completed her Master's Degree in Vocal Performance at the Manhattan School of Music in May of 2004, where she sung the title roles in scenes from Handel's Rodelinda and Alcina, along with the full role of the Queen of Sheba in Solomon. While pursuing her Master's degree, Ms. Castaldo was invited by Opera America to participate in the National Opera Convention, where she sang both roles of Alley Hawes and Miss Hatchard in the New York premiere of the opera Summer, by Stephen Paulus. Ms. Castaldo has also been seen in the the roles of Adele in J. Strauss's Die Fledermaus, Juliet in Gounod's Romeo e Juliet, Musetta in Puccini's La Boheme, and Michaela/Frasquita in Bizet's Carmen. In the summer of 2005, Ms. Castaldo lived in Italy after being accepted into the private studio's of Nunzio Todisco in Elisabetta Fusco in Naples, Italy. Now back in New York, Ms. Castaldo trains in the private studio of Doris Cross, and is preparing for upcoming auditions and competitions in America and Italy.
