Justin Bischof, Conductor and PianistJonathan Scott
Chorus

Jonathan Scott is a promising singer, aspiring to perform professionally.  He hails from northwest Georgia where he received his BM in vocal performance from Shorter College in Rome.  While at Shorter he performed the roles of Guglielmo in Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte and Dr. Gregg in Douglas Moore’s Galantry, as well as other small opera workshop roles.  He also developed a love for choral music, art song and world music fusion, as well as a need to experience the world and the ways in which it works.

After spending two years traveling, volunteering and organic farming, he has come to New York to expand upon his music.  He plays a variety of instruments and has evolved much while making music with good friends here in the city.  Over the past year he has enjoyed a variety of jobs around town that included singing with the NY Philharmonic and American Symphony Orchestra as well as a performance of Mozart’s CMinor Mass through the NY Choral Artists, and acting as a ringer at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, 5th Ave. Presbyterian, and Sacred Heart Cathedral Newark.  He has been involved in other events like the Mozart Requiem at St. Patrick’s and Haydn’s Creation with the St. Ignatius choir.  His most recent performance was the role of Judas in Bach’s St. Matthew’s Passion at the Brooklyn Academy of Music under the direction of Sir Jonathan Miller.  He sings in the choir of St. Ann and the Holy Trinity in Brooklyn Heights and is a class drummer at the Ballet Academy East.

Jonathan has recently started taking voice lessons again after an almost three year absence, and is very pleased to be studying with Maria Fattore.  He is very thankful and excited for his role in the chorus of this production, and has thoroughly enjoyed working the Modus Opera Company and this wonderfully talented cast!
