Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Jorge Ocasio studied voice at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico. With regional companies he has performed the roles of Monterone in Verdi’s Rigoletto, Sarastro in Mozart’s Magic Flute, Mathieu in Giordano’s Andrea Chénier, Benoit and Alcindoro in Puccini’s La Bohème, Fiorello in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Abimelech in C. Saint-Saëns Samson et Dalila.

Jorge Ocasio has also performed as a soloist in J. Haydn’s Missa Santi-Nicolai, Michael Haydn’s Requiem, G.F. Handel’s Messiah, W.A. Mozart’s Requiem and J. Brahms Requiem. As part of the X Festival of Music he sang J.S. Bach’s Koffee Cantata in San Jose, Costa Rica and in Antigua, Guatemala. 

Other roles include the Sacristan in G. Puccini’s Tosca for the Connecticut Grand Opera role he reprised for a broadcasted production of Opera de Puerto Rico; Figaro in W.A. Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with the Rome Festival; Don Geronimo in Cimarosa’s Il Matrimonio Segreto in Tel-Aviv, Israel with The International Vocal Arts Institute; Bartolo in G. Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia for Opera Co. of Brooklyn ; Osmin in Mozart’s Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail for NY Repertory Orchestra; Balthazar in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitorsfor for Chelsea Opera in New York and California; and Dulcamara in Donizetti’s Elisir d’Amore for Regina Opera.
